I've been Thinking - 26 May 2019

posted date: Friday 24th May 2019

Today we start what is becoming our annual Missions Month.

This gives us all an opportunity to remind ourselves that all of us, young and old, are called to be involved in the mission of sharing the love of God with those that we meet each day. But of course missions involves more than simply our own backyard, it includes New Zealand and the nations of the earth.

We can do this in a number of different ways:

Pray for those who are serving in Christchurch, New Zealand and the nations.

Give financially to help support those who are who have been sent out.

Go ourselves and be on the ground helping those who live in other countries.  I suspect this is the scariest of the ways that we can be involved in mission.

So as we launch Missions Month this year, we are privileged to have John and Susan Osborne with us for the next three weeks.

In addition, this week we will be meeting the team that, in October will be travelling to Bangladesh to work with and support the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society work on our behalf.

So, welcome to Missions Month.

It is going to be fun!
