I've been Thinking - 19 May 2019

posted date: Friday 17th May 2019

If you have been coming to Avonhead Baptist over the last couple of years, you may have noticed that about the middle of the year, we have a Missions Month. This is an opportunity to put our regular preaching series on hold, and spend four weeks looking at the big picture of missions in the world and our involvement with missions. We also take this opportunity to support the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society’s Self Denial appeal.

This year’s Missions Month starts next week 26th May. This year we are privileged to have John and Susan Osborne come and share with us for the coming three weeks.

John and Susan have been overseas workers with the Baptist Missionary Society for over 40 years, working primarily in Bangladesh and India. They have held various roles during this time.

Apart from their patience and willingness to faithfully serve God, they have never lost their love for Jesus. I wholeheartedly recommend them to you.

So I am excited about the coming weeks, and pray that you will come with open hearts to hear some great stories of what God has, and is, doing in the lives of people overseas. But also how God wants you to be involved in His work in the world.
