Owen's been thinking

posted date: Thursday 18th April 2019

I always find it fascinating when others study the Bible and come to their own conclusions about what the Bible is saying.

Last Sunday night, at Sunday Night Live, Owen Ladbrook was sharing about how when he looked into the work of Jesus Christ upon the cross, that he realised that it was/is the blood of Jesus that sets us free from the power of sin and death.

That is what we celebrate this weekend.  It is a mixture of both sorrow and joy, mourning and celebration, as we walk through the sadness of Jesus’ death on Friday and then celebrate the victory of Jesus’ resurrection on Sunday.

It is a message that at its heart has not changed for over 2,000 years. The power of Jesus’ death continues to change the lives of many people around the world. It is a reality that is backed by the power of the Holy Spirit, transforming the hardest hearts to become the saints of God and members of the Kingdom of God.

And, as one of the great hymn writers simply expressed it with the refrain; Hallelujah! What Saviour.

PS As you read this, please continue to pray for the many who will be attending Easter camps around New Zealand.  Please pray for a moving of salvation and renewal amongst all who attend. And for energy and strength for the leaders. Blessings.
