I've been Thinking - 15 October 201

posted date: Friday 13th October 2017

Next weekend we will celebrate 50 years as a constituted church. It is an event well worth celebrating, and an opportunity to remember God’s goodness to us over the last 50+ years.

For those of us who are around 50 years of age, you think back over those years and a lot has happened in that time. Societies have changed in so many ways, seven day shopping together with many other changes have changed the cultural values and attitudes regarding work, family life and in so many other ways. The way that we think about faith, and our standing in society is also very different in so many ways. The charismatic renewal of the 70-80’s has changed the way that we think about worship.

Yet through all those changes, we need to acknowledge the goodness of God and His never ending grace to us as a part of the body of Christ. Like all situations in life, there have been good times, sad times, times to celebrate and times to mourn. Nevertheless, through it all, God has been never left us, and for this we need to celebrate and worship our loving God together.
